65.5 meters / 215 feet

Bridge Story: Rwanda is still reeling under the weight of the mass genocide that occurred in 1990's. Though the economy has rebounded to pre-genocide levels, rural poverty rates are higher than before, especially among women. This bridge will greatly assist this local village with economic growth. For example, the new span will shorten the distance to market from 12 km to about 6 km. Local children will have access to schools, and the sick quicker access to clinics.

mission statement. bridges to prosperity is a volunteer based charity that seeks to empower poor african, asian and south american rural communities through footbridge building , thereby advancing personal responsibility, community public works, economic prosperity, and access to schools, clinics, jobs, and markets.
