Cuatro Esquinas Suspended Pedestrian Footbridge Project Slide Show Village: Cuatro Esquinas Bridge Sponsors: Unknown Partners: Ayuda en Accion Volunteers: Larry Sweet Bridge Name: Cuatro Esquinas River Name: Chichimpamayo River Bridge Span: 32 meter span Population Served by Bridge: 30 Families Bridge Story: The previous bridge was so fragile that people had to crawl across and no animals could use the crossing. In high water conditions which occur nearly 4 month per year, the people of Cuatro Esquinas were isloated from the surrounding communities including access to the school. In 2008, December a 32 meter suspended bridge was completed by the villagers of Cuatro Esquinas, located in the Chichimpamayo region, southwest of Cusco. The 120 cm wide bridge is now suitable for loaded pack animals to cross. Click on the Google Earth™ logo-Project link below to see a satellite view of the bridge site.
