Sencico Suspended Pedestrian Footbridge Project Slide Show USA Sponsor: The Rotary Clubs of Seattle, Alderwood Terrace, Lynwood, Gloucester Point, Gloucester, and the Rotary Foundation. Peru Sponsor: Sencico Bridge Name: Sencico Training Bridge Bridge Span: 5 meter span 17 feet) Pedestrian Footbridge Type: Suspended Bridge Story: SENCICO of Peru is a section of the Ministry of Housing, Sanitation, and Construction. It is a low cost technical school that trains students in trades such as welding, basic adobe house construction, electrical wiring, etc. In most cases, Bridges to Prosperity trains local engineers and bridge techs at the various rural bridge sites. However, given that most of our bridge sites in Peru take two days to travel to, we decided to build a demonstration bridge in Lima, to increase the number of locals trained. This bridge is located right in the middle of the University Campus, and was constructed by Sencico professors and staff. In 2006, we have trained over 100 Peruvian professionals in the construction techniques of the suspended bridge type.
