Bridge Story: Many years ago, a bridge crossed the Rio Maranon allowing villagers access to the town of Cahuac and thus access to markets for their produce and trade and education for their children. Six years ago that access was snatched away by vicious floods in the Maranon – one of Peru’s largest rivers. Since then the villagers across the river have been the prisoners of the great river locked in their land producing products for trade, but with none to trade with. A bridge across the Maranon will change all that and they will once more be able to reap the benefits of their hard work of the land.
