Bridge Story: More than 20 years ago World Vision built a 40m suspended cable bridge joining the municipality of Belen with the municipality of La Campa. The bridge was a life-line of trade between the 2 communities, and continues to be to this day, except that the bridge is now in disrepair. The floods swallow the lower portion and the bridge cannot be crossed. Trade comes to a standstill in those rainy months. This year, World Vision has returned to build a new bridge above the old in cooperation with Bridges to Prosperity, Helvetas Honduras, La Campa and Belen municipalities and the communities who cross the bridge. A safe bridge will be built and trade will go on for another 30 years.
