Wes is from Asheville, North Carolina where he grew up with his mom, dad, and sister. He moved to Raleigh NC for college where he received a bachelor's degree in civil engineering from NC State University. While enrolled he played club baseball and basketball, was an active member of Habitat for Humanity, and focused his studies on bridge design. Wes went on to work for a design build contractor as a project manager in Charlotte NC. While in Charlotte, Wes completed a master's degree from UNC Charlotte in structural engineering. His studies focused structural retrofits and renovations of existing buildings. Wes moved to Colorado in the fall of 2010 to pursue his passions for the outdoors, sustainable living, and new experiences.

Mission Statement. Bridges To Prosperity is a volunteer based charity that seeks to empower poor African, Asian and South American rural communities through footbridge building, thereby advancing personal responsibility, community public works, economic prosperity, and access to schools, clinics, jobs, and markets.
