Tim Martin

Tim Martin of Stillwater, Minnesota joins the Bridges to Prosperity team as Program Manager in Zambia. He received BS and MS degrees in Civil Engineering from Michigan Technological University (MTU) in Houghton, Michigan. His master’s was completed through the Master’s International (MI) Program, which combines Peace Corps service with a graduate degree. He served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Samoa from ’06 - ’08 working on projects that included increasing rainwater harvesting capacity in his host village and organizing a national career day for secondary students. Tim has also worked in the Dominican Republic, Bolivia and Panama with MTU’s International Senior Design (ISD) Program both as a student and team mentor. He is also a skilled builder having worked his way through college as a carpenter with a small family firm specializing in period correct renovation and restoration of historic homes in many of St. Paul and Minneapolis’ turn of the century neighborhoods. In his free time Tim enjoys many outdoor pursuits year round including celebrating Minnesota’s winters as an avid nordic skier and high school coach.

Mission Statement. Bridges To Prosperity is a volunteer based charity that seeks to empower poor African, Asian and South American rural communities through footbridge building, thereby advancing personal responsibility, community public works, economic prosperity, and access to schools, clinics, jobs, and markets.
