Patrick Howell

Patrick Howell is from San Diego, CA. He attended San Francisc State University where he received a BS degree in Civil Engineering in 2009 with a structural empasis. While studying in San Francisco Patrick took advantage of his surroundings and toured many of the large scale civil engineering projects such as the bay bridge construction.

Since graduating Patrick has been volunteering for many organizagtions, most notably with Engineers Without Borders San Diego. EWB projects include a solar power system in Kenya and a potable water system in El Salvador. Duties have included participating in site assessment trips, technical analysis/design and fundraising.

Patrick started as a volunteer with Bridges to Prosperity in April 2011 and is currently serving as an intern for B2P for various sites in Nicaragua. He has developed an affinity for the bridge projects and a desire to advance in Spanish.

Mission Statement. Bridges To Prosperity is a volunteer based charity that seeks to empower poor African, Asian and South American rural communities through footbridge building, thereby advancing personal responsibility, community public works, economic prosperity, and access to schools, clinics, jobs, and markets.
