Nicholas J. Arnold
Software Developer

Nicholas J. Arnold

Nick began working with Bridges to Prosperity in 2011 to provide software engineering and development expertise during a restructuring of the organizationís backend systems and website re-development. He is working closely with other B2P staff to develop efficient tools and workflows that will facilitate smoother field data collection, storage, and dissemination.

Throughout his life, Nick has been interested in the intimate details of how things work and how they can be made better. This intrinsic curiosity eventually led him to pursue a career in software development. To advance this goal Nick studied Computer Science at the University of Iowa, receiving his BA and subsequently taking some graduate courses to broaden his knowledge. During his time at Iowa, Nick secured a research job at IIHR-Hydroscience & Engineering which focused on developing software to support the goals of ongoing projects. This unique experience afforded Nick many opportunities including presenting his work at conferences, publishing papers in peer reviewed journals, and traveling to China for a 2-week course to study international issues in water resource management.

These days Nick is busy applying his knowledge of software and technology by working as a freelance software consultant out of Chicago, IL. He enjoys the challenge of working on a wide array of problems and the reward of helping his clients accomplish their goals.
